About the role
You will partner with the Commercial team (including Product and Sales) and the marketing team to inform the product and marketing strategies.
 
You will regularly engage with our Customers and Stakeholders.
 
As you progress in the role, you will deepen your understanding of the technical and competitive advantages of Energy Vault’s products and solutions.
 
Utilizing your market experience with customers and competitors, you will develop marketing intelligence insights and influence commercial strategies
 
If hybrid, you will work 3+ days per week out of our Westlake Village, CA headquarters and travel 10-20%.  If remote, you will travel at least one week per month to Westlake Village, in addition to other travel.

What you will do

    • Market Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to understand Energy Storage industry trends, customer buying behaviors, and competitive value propositions. Collect and manage data from multiple sources, apply analysis and data modeling techniques to interpret data and generate insights.
    • Reporting and Strategic Insights: Prepare reports and presentations that summarize findings and recommendations. Communicate complex data in a clear and understandable manner to support strategic decisions by product and sales teams.
    • Collaboration with Other Teams: Work closely with marketing, sales, and product development to ensure commercial strategy: target customers, business model, sales channels are based on market intelligence findings.
    • Monitoring and Profiling of Key Talent: Develop and track list of top performers in the industry (best sales people, best product people, best originator, best Commercial Program Managers)
    • Tool and Vendor Management: Utilize and manage various market research and analysis tools. Coordinate with external research firms and data providers as needed.

What a qualified candidate should possess

    • 10+ years of marketing, sales, and/or product experience, with 3+ years of proven capability in marketing intelligence and business strategy.
    • 5+ years’ experience in renewable energy (preferred) or hardware and software product marketing.
    • University degree or college diploma preferred, or equivalent work experience; advanced degree such as in analytics or MBA nice to have.
    • Proven experience in market research, data analysis, or a similar role.
    • Excellent project management, organization, time-management, and data visualization.
    • Keen interpersonal effectiveness, rapport building, ability to manage conflict, and selflessness.
    • Analytical prowess, mind, quantitative aptitude, an eye for detail and key performance indicators.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for internal and external stakeholders, in-person and remote.
    • Expertise with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Experience with various software for market intelligence / market research / analytics.
    • Experience with SQL, Python, or similar nice to have.
    • Experience with data visualization software such as Tableau, Domo, or PowerBI nice to have.
    • Comfort in fast-paced, rapid-growth environments.
    • Experience in public companies is a plus.
