THE ROLE

As the Safety Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in developing, implementing, and maintaining safety policies and procedures tailored to the unique demands of our fulfillment operations. Your responsibilities encompass a diverse range of tasks, from conducting regular safety inspections to leading safety committee meetings and investigating incidents. You will collaborate closely with management and safety supervisors from additional sites to deliver comprehensive safety training programs, monitor compliance with regulations, and recommend improvements to enhance workplace safety practices and equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures for Thrive Market’s fulfillment operations.
    • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with regulations.
    • Collaborate with management to create and deliver safety training programs for employees.
    • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
    • Monitor and enforce safety regulations, including OSHA standards and company policies.
    • Lead safety committee meetings and participate in cross-functional safety initiatives.
    • Maintain accurate records of safety-related activities, including training, inspections, and incidents.
    • Recommend and implement improvements to workplace safety practices and equipment.
    • Serve as a resource for employees regarding safety concerns and best practices.
    • Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to fulfillment safety.
    • Partner with the leadership team to develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in sustaining performance excellence and report on those metrics frequently
    • Be the point person for all regulatory visits, administrative procedures and reporting
    • Manage programs including Process Safety, Air Contaminant Monitoring, Hearing Conservation, Emergency Action Plans, Respiratory Protection, LOTO, PPE, Confined Spaces, PITs, Electrical Safety, Life Safety, Ergonomics, High Hazard Work, and Accident Investigation.
    • Coordinate training for Emergency Response Teams set up in workplaces
    • Participate in new hire orientation outlining the company’s high expectations regarding safety rules and regulations
    • Track and maintain all training records.
    • Organize and participate in safety committee activities
    • Become a certified “Train the Trainer” as it relates to industrial equipment certification.  
    • Assist with the development of action plans and corrective actions

QUALIFICATIONS

    • Preferred Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, industrial engineering, or related field.
    • Certification in occupational health and safety (e.g., CSP, ASP, OHST) is preferred.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in safety management, preferably in a fulfillment or warehouse environment.
    • In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risks and develop effective solutions.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with employees at all levels.
    • Proven track record of developing and implementing safety programs.
    • Experience conducting safety training and managing safety committees.
    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to maintain accurate records and documentation.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
    • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
    • Proficiency in relevant software applications.
    • Ability to work flexible hours supporting the safety needs of Thrive Market across various shifts

JOB INFORMATION

    • Compensation Description - The starting salary range for this position is $65K-$70K
    • Rate of pay may increase over time based upon: skill, level of responsibility, additional duties, seniority, quantity or quality of production or other legitimate, business-related factors.
