As the ESS Solution Proposal Manager, you will play a crucial role in securing new business opportunities by leading the development of compelling proposals for energy storage projects. Working closely with field sales representatives and cross-functional teams, you will be responsible for understanding client requirements, designing tailored solutions, and preparing persuasive proposals that showcase the value of our offerings. Your strategic thinking, technical expertise, and project management skills will be instrumental in ensuring the success of our proposal efforts. The position reports to the Head of C&I ESS Solution Sales or other senior management personnel that the Company’s President may designate.

Responsibilities

    • Proposal Development: Lead the end-to-end proposal development process, from initial request through to submission, ensuring compliance with client specifications and project requirements.
    • Client Engagement: Collaborate with sales, engineering, and product teams to gather information and insights necessary for understanding client needs and designing customized energy storage solutions.
    • Solution Design: Work closely with engineering and technical teams to develop detailed designs and specifications for energy storage systems, considering factors such as capacity, scalability, and performance.
    • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial modeling and analysis to evaluate project feasibility, including cost-benefit analysis, ROI (Return on Investment) calculations, and NPV (Net Present Value) assessments.
    • Proposal Writing: Write, edit, and organize proposal content, ensuring clarity, coherence, and alignment with client objectives and proposal guidelines.
    • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with proposed solutions and develop mitigation strategies to address them effectively.
    • Quality Assurance: Coordinate internal review processes, gather feedback, and incorporate revisions to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of proposals.
    • Presentation and Negotiation: Prepare presentations and other collateral to support proposal submissions, and participate in client meetings and negotiations as needed.
    • Perform other duties and special projects, as reasonably assigned by supervisor, project manager, and/or group unit.

Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Energy Management, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
    • Proven experience (5-7 years) in proposal management, project management, or related roles, preferably within the renewable energy or energy storage industry.
    • Strong understanding of energy storage technologies, including battery storage systems, grid integration, and energy management solutions.
    • Excellent analytical and financial modeling skills, with the ability to perform complex calculations and evaluate project economics.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to diverse audiences.
    • Strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail and the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software/tools (e.g., Salesforce, Creatio, or similar platforms).
    • Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively across departments and levels of the organization.
    • Willingness to travel domestically on a regular basis, up to 20% travel.
