Q CELLS Home Energy Solutions seeks a Manager of Design and Engineering to manage and control projects through administrative and specialized expertise with the Home Energy System division. As a Manager of Design and Engineering, you will be responsible for the support and management of the design accuracy of solar energy and battery storage from the site survey review and up to the project receiving final inspection. Major responsibilities include submission of design requests to various 3rd party drafting firms, verification of scope and design accuracy for code compliance, online or in person submission of plan sets to various
plan check authorities, reporting and support on design accuracy and permit cycle time and
support of the Field Operations team in managing the design and construction of solar and solar plus battery systems.
This is a key position with the responsibility for building and scaling the solar support operations to match the growth of the business. The ideal candidate is an experienced professional with strong analytical skills, great attention to detail, and problem solving and communication skills. This position will be based in the Q CELLS North America headquarters in Irvine, CA, although remote options may also be available.
Responsibilities
- Create and submit Drafting package for third party Auto Cad drafters
- Permit and AHJ research and support to ensure and timelypermitapprovals
- Become a subject matter expert on the QcellsQ.Home battery system for residenential applications
- Understanding of how solar systems are sold, designed and constructed
- Track delayed permit approvals and resolve delays, as needed
- Review operational procedures and ensure conformance to industry best practices
- Analyze and monitor team performance to improve upon cycle times
- Update CRM, fulfillment portal, 3rd party financier portals and various other business tools.

Required Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience in solar system design and engineering
- Impeccable attention to detail
- Ability to exercise strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent leadership, team development, people management
- Detailed, analytical thinker with ability to recruit and lead quantitative talent
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to present credit management, vision and strategy in internal and external forums
