Description
The Environmental Supervisor will supervise onsite environmental remediation and spill cleanup operations in New Mexico and West Texas. He/she must have a strong commitment and understanding of safety, environmental standards, and state and local regulations. Operational knowledge of heavy equipment and contractor management is required.
Additional job responsibilities include:
- Oversee and coordinate the work activities of contractors and heavy equipment operation. Supervisor is onsite during operations.
- Assigns tasks and manages workflow for efficient operations
- Inspects work completed to ensure that it meets all safety standards and regulations
- Prepares daily reports detailing work activity and safety compliance
- Records daily tickets of labor hours, heavy haul disposal and materials that are going to or leaving jobsites
- Monitors environmental conditions and takes corrective action when necessary
- Implements and enforces environmental policies and procedures
- Coordinates with regulatory agencies to obtain permits and approvals
- Stays current with new environmental regulations and updates policies and procedures accordingly
Requirements
- 2+ years of field experience in environmental remediation and heavy haul equipment operations
- Working knowledge of federal, state and local environmental regulations
- Ability to manage 3rd party contractors in terms of safety, efficiency and execution
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
