La Rabida Children’s Hospital is hiring a full-time Environmental Specialist Supervisor for the EVS Department in Chicago, IL!

Evenings (3:00pm-11:00pm), rotating weekends and holidays

La Rabida is currently recruiting a full-time Environmental Specialist Supervisor to join our EVS department in Chicago, IL. We are a small children’s acute care hospital focused on treating complex medical conditions, chronic illnesses, developmental disabilities, and abuse and trauma.  

The Environmental Services Supervisor coordinates, plans and manages the operational activities, administrative functions, customer relations and personnel of the Environmental Services, and Laundry/Linen Department. Maintains a pleasant, comfortable, and safe environment for patients, staff and visitors. Supports the hospital mission and observes hospital core job values regarding Service Excellence Standards, work quality, productivity teamwork and initiative. 


Essential Functions:

  • Coordination and administration of all operational aspects to provide a quality environment for the hospital.

  • Monitors department productivity to insure effective use of human resources.

  • Experience with planning, organizing and supervising activities of staff required. 

  • Identifies areas for operations improvement and implements pro-active changes.

  • Plans and directs the administrative and operational functions to maximize efficiency of resources and meet regulatory requirements.

  • Conducts and communicates performance reviews for staff. Communicates performance ratings and salary adjustments.

  • Implements policies, procedures, and practices that meet standards for accreditation, licensure by achieving successful inspections by JCAHO, IDPH, OSHA, EPA, etc.

 

 

What we need from you:  

  • Associate Degree in related field or equivalent years of experience in the field required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. 

  • 3 years' experience in Healthcare Environmental Service’s management preferred. 

  • Experience with planning, organizing and supervising activities of staff required. 

  • Strong writing and interpersonal skills required. 

  • Ability to be a team player required. 

  • Time management and decision-making skills required. 

  • Leadership, motivational, organizational, planning and team building skills required.
