Job Description

We are currently seeking a qualified Environment Manager to join our team, based out of Leroy, SK. The Environment Manager will be responsible for The Environment Manager is responsible for the overall co-ordination and maintenance of the Environmental Component of the HSE Management System, and is responsible to HSE Manager, Corporate for provision of technical consultation on all matters related to Environmental Activities.

The Environment Manager ensures that all Bantrel Personnel and Subcontractors are in full compliance with the Environmental components of the Health, Safety and Environmental Project Plan, Clients’ Health, Safety, Environment and Security Programs and all applicable Provincial Occupational Health and Safety, and Environmental Legislation.

The incumbent must have the necessary training, knowledge and directly related experience in hydrocarbon processing facilities and possess the skills necessary to interact with the senior management of Bantrel, the Client organizations, numerous subcontractors and their trades during the design and construction periods. This position is on a 14/7 rotation, 10 hr. days based at site. Camp accommodations provided.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and coordination of Project-specific Environmental Management Systems and oversee the activities of the environmental staff.
  • Direct development and implementation of HSE training for environmental protection.
  • Consult with and advise Project Management and Construction Management on HSE Environmental matters.
  • Monitor compliance with Client, Bantrel and regulatory requirements, initiate corrective actions through supervision and/or through Environmental HSE management system refinement.
  • Interface with Clients, Construction Management, Project Management, line supervision, subcontractors and other stakeholders on Environmental issues.
  • Serve as the resource for interpretation of the OH&S, and Environmental Legislation.
  • Participate in Monthly HSE Stewardship Meetings as and when required.
  • Participate in Constructability Reviews, HAZOP Meetings and Model Reviews as required to provide environmental advice.
  • Attend Monthly Project Stewardship Meetings as requested.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Environment or Civil Engineering Preferred
  • 5+ years industry experience
  • Several (5+) Years Experience in the Engineering and Construction Fields in an Environmental Capacity
  • Superior Communication Skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate with all levels of a project organization
  • Knowledge of applicable occupational health, safety and environmental legislation
