Company Description

Unfolding Prudential and Sustainable Finance Regulation & Reporting and help our clients perform as a Responsible Business. At Deloitte.

Job Description

Prudential regulation and reporting is a cornerstone of banking operations, ensuring that banks remain financially sound, compliant with regulations, and capable of managing risks effectively. It is not only a regulatory requirement but also a fundamental practice for maintaining the stability and integrity of the financial system while fostering trust among stakeholders. Deloitte is heavily involved in large and complex, regulatory implementations and prudential reporting issues within the financial sector. Think, for example, of reports such as FINREP and COREP, but also BASEL III & IV, AnaCredit, CRR and CRD and how to effectively already implement regulatory controls in the front office processes. We as Deloitte are also in the middle of this! We do not only analyse laws and regulations, but we help our clients to put them into practice, though impact analyses and (regulatory-driven) change processes.

Furthermore, it is our responsibility as humanity to change the way we interact with our planet. Our behaviour has caused a significant rise in temperature worldwide and if we as a society do not intervene now, the damage will soon be irreparable. An essential part of achieving a change in behaviour in society, is to inform society about the climate impact. Looking at banks, this applies to both the impact of the environment on banks (and its lending portfolio and investments), as well as the impact that banks have on the environment. Initiatives for more sustainable banking environment are not only coming from the banks themselves, but are also guided by the several regulators (e.g. EBA, ECB, European Union) and interwoven in existing financial risk types like credit risk. However, the sustainability risk regulation is still maturing and understanding and interpreting the these relevant laws and regulation (and related reporting standards) is still difficult. We leverage our existing knowledge of these subjects and combine them with our front-runner knowledge in sustainability regulation.

Banks often lack relevant knowledge and experience in these domains given the enormous complexity, changing regulations and data-related challenges. We as Deloitte do not only provide insight, but also actively work together with our clients, to apply Prudential and Sustainable Finance Regulation and Reporting in a consistent way, across the different domains within a bank. This makes the information reported by different banks more comparable which increases the insight!
