Coastal Waste & Recycling is privately-owned, locally-operated solid waste disposal and recycling company. We are experiencing explosive growth and with growth comes opportunity. We are currently adding a MRF/Heavy Construction Equipment Mechanic to our team to support the growth.

This position is responsible for the maintenance of heavy equipment and the material recycling system.  

 

Essential Functions/Responsibilities/Skills include:

  • Maintaining & repairing all yellow iron (heavy equipment) – Conveyor system, Volvo, Morbark Grinder and Doppstadt Shredder
  • Diagnosing and repairing all engines (gas & diesel), transmissions, hydraulics, electric motors (5 – 50 hp) 
  • Utilizing service manuals and schematics to set up and perform repairs

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic
  • Prior experience utilizing diagnostic tools. Caterpillar and Volvo.
  • Welding experience helpful, but not necessary
  • Own set of mechanic tools
  • Ability to lift heavy objects 50+ pounds
  • Electrical and Industrial experience a plus
