The Role

As a Senior Process Engineer, Material Flow at Moxion, your primary focus will be on implementing material flow design, analyzing, and enhancing material conveyance to support various aspects such as material handling, production, warehouse layouts, and shipping processes. Drawing on your expertise, you'll collaborate closely with Operations and IT teams to identify operational bottlenecks and system requirements, translating them into actionable project plans. Responsibilities will include warehouse slotting, capacity planning, and collaborating with 3PL partners to optimize material flow. Additionally, you'll oversee line-side material presentation, ensuring seamless production processes for Moxion's products. We are seeking a proactive, self-reliant individual with outstanding organizational abilities to spearhead improvement initiatives in our dynamic, fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do:

    • Engineer all end-to-end Material Flow Processes in the factory and 3PL
    • Design optimized layouts, line-side material presentation, and warehouse slotting for material storage and processing for multiple sites, including 3PL.
    • Create, maintain and optimize PFEP (Plan for Every Part) with all material flow attributes, and packaging data, collaborating with Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to streamline operations and enhance performance.
    • Diagnose issues and inefficiencies found in the material flow process and drive corrective action back to source, resulting in root cause identification and elimination. Utilize structured problem solving techniques such as DMAIC, Ishikawa, Five Why (5W) and Eight Disciplines (8D)
    • Conducts time studies to determine headcount and equipment requirements.
    • Create & maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as processes develop and evolve. Train operations teams and support with issue resolutions.
    • Calculate storage space requirements, design material delivery routes, complete dock utilization analysis, and support dynamic simulations.
    • Lead Continuous Improvement projects to improve efficiency of material handling processes and drive cost reductions.

Skills to be Successful:

    • Industrial or manufacturing engineering experience, process engineering, material flow (internship experience may be considered) in the automotive space is required. Preferably in a start up environment.
    • Exceptional critical thinking and communication skills, demonstrating a high degree of emotional intelligence, autonomy, and servant leadership.
    • Experience in warehouse or factory layout/design and optimization.
    • Creative problem-solving skills

Nice to haves:

    • Experience working with 3PL partners to develop cost effective storage/logistics solutions.
    • Demonstrated experience in implementing optimized simulation models.
    • ​​Six Sigma certification.
    • Knowledge of software such as simulation modeling software (FlexSim), data visualization software (Tableau), design software (SolidWorks, CATIA), and programming languages (SQL, Python, MATLAB, VBA).
    • BS or MS Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and/or equivalent experience.

$130,000 - $140,000 a year
