Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Lead and manage the Transaction and Project Development Teams coordinating the acquisition and development of distributed-scale solar projects nationwide.
· Provide oversight guidance and direction to transaction managers relating to project and legal due diligence for acquisition and development
· Prioritize direct reports to coordinate, review, and track key development deliverables with internal teams and external legal, zoning, environmental, interconnection, and engineering consultants
· Deliver insightful risk mitigation and strategic development recommendations as the need arises
· Collaborate with a diverse array of project partners, both internal and external, such as developers/sellers, construction managers, development engineers, permitting consultants, legal counsel, landowners, offtakers and community stakeholders
· Assume end-to-end accountability for solar project acquisitions and developments, commencing from term sheet execution through commencement of construction
· Participate in, and contribute to, the senior management of the company
· Conduct company-wide weekly project status meetings
· The position will oversee multiple development opportunities at the same time, each at varying stages
Lead decision making and support presentation of projects ready to move into detailed design and construction.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· A minimum of 5 years' experience in solar development
· Self-motivated leader with a high level of initiative and accountability
· Ability to multi-task and work in a deadline-driven environment
· Proven expertise in successfully negotiating and concluding transactions
· Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and influencing skills
· Project management, organizational, and analytical problem-solving skills
· Strong work ethic and ability to self-start in a fast-paced environment
· Organized, diligent, and able to manage multiple streams of information on an ongoing basis
· Excel and Salesforce skills a plus
· Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
· Able to work from headquarters in Rockville, MD
