We seek to hire a self-motivated and experienced full-time Finance & Grants Associate for Solar One's Programs.

Position Responsibilities

Reporting to the Managing Director of Finance, the Finance & Grants Associate will provide administrative support to Solar One's Programs and Operations. Activities include but are not limited to:

  • Tracking expenses and invoicing for government contracts.
  • Assembling and maintaining data related to programs and contracts and constructing and analyzing data for invoicing.
  • Reviewing employee time records and monitoring time budgets for contracts and grants to prepare reports of time worked.
  • Assembling data for invoicing contracts and donors. Communicate regularly with Program Directors to ensure accuracy of time records.
  • Reviewing sub-contractor invoices for accuracy and adherence to project budgets.
  • Creating invoices for reimbursement of all expenditures allocated to various government contracts.
  • Communicating with government and grants officials to create efficient pathways for prompt reimbursement of contract expenses.
  • Tracking expenditures and assisting with reporting according to contract procedures.
  • Organizing and maintaining files, documents, financial reports, and budgets.
  • A/R functions: creating invoices, sending them to clients, and following up on payments.
  • Reconciling A/R aging report on a monthly basis.
  • Assisting finance staff with additional invoicing, audit, and other duties as required.

 

Qualifications and Skills

Successful candidates for this role should be able to demonstrate the following:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or finance preferred.
  • 2-3 years of related experience required.
  • Excellent quantitative analysis skills.
  • Strong ability to develop spreadsheet analysis using Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Familiarity with not-for-profit financial accounting.
  • Understanding of and experience with the budgeting process and timekeeping.
  • Familiarity with compliance with Federal and State grant and contract accounting regulations a plus.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Dropbox, Zoom and Google Apps required.
  • Experience with Financial Edge, QuickBooks, Adobe Suite, and Salesforce preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Strong time management skills and attention to detail
  • Must be self-motivated.

 

Pay and Benefits

This position is Full Time / Exempt

Paying $62,400-$66,000 per year (salary based on experience)
