The Plant Operations Specialist - I&E will support all stages from design through startup and operations of the surface facilities and transmission interconnections at Fervo’s greenfield facility, Project Cape in Milford, Utah. The Plant Operations Specialist will serve as the operations representative reporting to the Project Manager and supporting the Surface Facilities engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Providing operational input on engineering scopes of work, workshops, witness tests, and other design and development deliverables
• Overseeing plant operations during commissioning, start-up, and operations
• Specializing in instrumentation and electrical scopes of work
• Recommending equipment and system optimization opportunities
• Adhering to and enforcing all safety, environmental, and operating procedures
• Developing operational procedures, training, and qualification processes
• Conducting and managing special projects as assigned by Project Manager
• Developing strong working knowledge of all plant equipment

Required Qualifications

• 5 years of relevant operations experience in a process plant environment
• Must be located within 1 hour driving distance to Milford, Utah
• Ability and willingness to travel as required; up to 50%
• Prior experience operating mechanical and electrical equipment
• The ability to read and interpret operating procedures and process and electrical drawings
• Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and the Internet
• Must possess a valid electrician's license
• Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving record acceptable to Fervo’s auto insurance carrier

Preferred Qualifications

• Geothermal facilities, operations, maintenance experience
• Expertise with a wide range of renewable energy types
• Familiarity with Design for Reliability
• Familiarity with Safety in Design
• Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work at a computer and computer monitor and use repetitive motion for long periods of time
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds occasionally
• Must be able to climb ladders, work off of elevated platforms, ladders and walkways
• Must wear protective equipment for specified duties
• Be able to accommodate job demands which include sitting and standing for long periods of time as well as bending, stooping, and kneeling

This position is based in Milford, Utah, near the site of Fervo’s greenfield facility, Project Cape. Employee must be located within 1 hour driving distance to Milford, Utah. Relocation assistance is available for this position.
