The role 

You will be joining a busy 247 SOC, where Security Engineers are are ultimately responsible for ensuring that ANS’s customers are protected from unauthorised access. You will be responsible for securing both online and on premise infrastructures, weeding through metrics and data to filter out suspicious activity, and finding and mitigating risks before breaches occur. If a breach does occur, Security Engineers are often on the front line, leading efforts to counter the attack. This role is ideal for candidates who like a technical challenge and enjoy the ever changing nature of cyber security. 

What will I be doing?

  • Develops standards, policies and procedures as well as best practices documentation
  • Tuning of Alerts 
  • Maintaining and improving the security posture of our clients 
  • Identify and implement new security technologies and best practices into
  • Monitoring and responding to SOC alerts
  • Assisting with compromise investigations and e-discovery requests
  • Liaising with clients via ticket and phone call
  • Reviewing vulnerability scans and providing remediation advice to clients
  • Proactive monitoring of clients solutions
  • Assisting Sales/Account managers with client security
  • On-Boarding new customers
  • Generating reports for senior business members to evaluate the efficiency of the security policies ANS have in place

What will I bring to the role?

  • A good understanding of the following technologies is required:
  • Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Experience with VMWare virtualized environments
  • Knowledge of syslog and event viewer
  • Incident Response
  • Experience with SIEM solutions
  • Network Defence
  • NIST CVSS Vulnerabilities and scoring system
  • OS Specific log data
  •  IPTables
  • Knowledge of secure development principles and OWASP top 10

Essential:

  • Candidate must be capable of achieving HMG Security Clearance
  • Willingness to work a shift pattern of days and nights
