Summary of Role:

This position is a leadership role responsible for managing multiple Residential Field Service Technicians, reports to a Regional Operations Manager, and is supported by the Field Service Department. The Field Services Supervisor works closely with Field Service Technicians, the warehouse team, and the scheduling team to ensure safe, high-quality, and efficient post-installation servicing of residential PV and PV + Storage projects. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining a safety-first culture, providing on-the-job training, managing projects, and interfacing with homeowners as necessary. This job requires a customer-first attitude, problem-solving abilities, and skills in Microsoft Suite and our internal CRM. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Provide feedback, coaching, and development for the Field Service Team
    • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, and making performance and compensation decisions
    • Organize and manage a team of 4 to 10 Field Service Technicians to effectively complete onsite troubleshooting and problem-solving with PV and PV+Storage projects
    • Effectively manage the schedule for Field Service Technicians, driving schedule density, efficiency, and effective resource planning
    • Troubleshoot and resolve on-site issues with string inverters, AC systems, and battery systems, including commissioning, and monitoring.
    • Ensure training compliance and provide on-the-job training for Field Service Techs
    • Drive safety and quality initiatives along with Field Service best practices
    • Perform Quality and Safety site audits as necessary
    • Ability to manage system removals and replacements
    • Review and approve timecards
    • Ensure service requests and the associated reports are completed and closed out in a timely fashion
    • Manage process adherence within Field Service Lighting
    • Work closely with the warehousing team to ensure materials are ordered and returned efficiently
    • Assists in managing and controlling inventory and consumable use and spend

Minimum Qualifications:

    • High School diploma & 5 years of solar installation experience or an equivalent combination of education and years of related experience
    • 2 years of PV and PV + Storage troubleshooting
    • Strong understanding of NEC codes, especially with residential PV installations
    • Proficient in the installation of grid-tied and micro inverter applications
    • Experience using PV-related commissioning and performance apps
    • Experience using Microsoft Office and CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tools such as Salesforce
    • Valid Driver’s License
    • OSHA 10 Certification

Preferred Qualifications:

    • OSHA 30 preferred
    • NABCEP certification
    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • Electrical License
    • Salesforce experience 

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

    • Ability to traverse/maneuver job sites and survey/assess all aspects of the construction process for extended periods of time
    • Ability to climb a ladder onto a roof/walk across a roof/install equipment to roof safely
    • Regularly works in outdoor conditions: inclement weather, heat and humidity, cold and freezing temperatures, and exposure to poisonous plants, insects, and allergens
    • May be exposed to energized electrical equipment and will be required to take appropriate precautions
    • The employee may routinely handle typical work equipment/materials and be required to lift, move and install materials up to 50+ pounds
    • Frequent and repeated lifting from ground to various heights up to 50 pounds individually, and team lifting heavier items
    • Noise level in the work environment is moderate but could be louder depending on location of install or demo
    • Ability to use/learn standard construction equipment/technology with proficiency
    • Typical work hours are Monday - Friday, 8-hour shifts with potential weekends
    • Must hold a valid driver’s license and own a registered insured personal vehicle to travel between job sites (no use of motorcycles or scooters during business hours)
    • Ability to travel between warehouse and job sites
    • Visual acuity to drive motor vehicles/mobile equipment/read printed and electronic documents
    • Hearing capacity to receive, perceive, and react to common driving and construction environment noises
    • Ability to communicate verbally with management, co-workers, and the public in one on one and group settings
