KOKO Labs’ dedicated team of entrepreneurs, researchers, designers and engineers work out of purpose-built facilities in Nairobi (Kenya), Pune, gandhinagar and Ahmedabad (India) partnering closely with technical, commercial, academic and regulatory experts from around the world.

KOKO Labs is seeking an Industrial Designer to join our dynamic and innovative team. As an Industrial Designer, you will play a key role in designing and developing innovative products for different Program Areas under Labs. The successful candidate will have a passion for design, a strong eye for detail, a research mindset, ability to work on hazy briefs, and a desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.

We build and test out projects quickly and they vary in type and reach. We work in a collaborative team and the culture helps you to build your own niche and allows exploring your skills in domains to want to grow in. This means the designer is never bored - you’ll be working on a range of projects - from User research, Industrial Design, Usability testing and even designing the entire product ecosystem. All you need is a good sense of design and a willingness to learn

What You Will Do

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize and create innovative industrial designs for our products.
    • Generate detailed design specifications, including 3D models, prototypes, and technical drawings.
    • Conduct research to understand market trends, user needs, and competitive products.
    • Work closely with engineering teams to ensure the feasibility and manufacturability of designs.
    • Participate in design reviews, provide constructive feedback, and iterate on designs based on feedback.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and materials to incorporate into design concepts.
    • Ensure all design work is delivered on time, within budget, and meets the highest quality standards.

What You Will Bring to KOKO

    • Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Industrial Design or a related field.
    • 2-5 years of relevant experience in industrial design.
    • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of industrial design projects.
    • Proficiency in industry-standard design tools and software.
    • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
