Human Resource Generalist

Location: Hybrid

Reports to: Chief of Staff  

Status: Full-Time

Kinect Solar is looking for a talented Human Resource Generalist. This position will report to the Chief of Staff.  An HR generalist is expected to be a conceptual thinker with fantastic organizational and conflict management skills. You will have excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills with the ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment. 

To ensure success, HR generalists should exhibit strong decision-making skills with a deep understanding of employee relationships, staffing management and training. Top candidates will be comfortable managing grey areas, effective at scheduling and methodical in the recruitment process.

Objectives of this role:

  • Assist in developing and executing personnel procedures and policies and provide guidance and interpretation for business operations.
  • Participate in development of HR objectives and systems, including metrics, queries, and ongoing reports for company requirements.
  • Assist in administering benefits, compensation, and employee performance programs.
  • Suggest new procedures and policies for improving employee experience as well as the efficiency of HR department and company.
  • Ensure compliance with local and national regulations and applicable employment laws, and update policies and procedures when necessary.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with all internal and external HR-related matters.
  • Participate in developing organizational guidelines and procedures.
  • Recommend strategies to motivate employees.
  • Assist with the recruitment process by identifying candidates, conducting reference checks, and issuing employment contracts.
  • Coordinate employee development plans and performance management.
  • Prepare paperwork and schedules for smooth new-hire onboarding process, coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first day experience.
  • Handle all administrative tasks for onboarding, new-hire orientations, and exit interviews, including data entry in human resources information systems (HRIS) and audits for accuracy and compliance.
  • Process bi-weekly payroll.
  • Manage the organization’s employee database and prepare reports.
  • Produce and submit reports on general HR activity.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest HR trends and best practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in human resources, business, or related field.
  • 3 years of experience working in an HR department.
  • 2 years of experience processing multi-state payroll.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness.
  • Deep understanding of federal and multi-state employment law and compliance.
  • Efficient HR administration and people management skills.
  • Excellent record-keeping skills.
  • Fantastic knowledge of HR functions and best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Works comfortably under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
  • Superb computer literacy with capability in email and MS Office.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Aptitude for problem-solving, conflict management, and thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies.
  • Advanced knowledge of HRIS and ability to learn new technical systems, when necessary.
