Job Summary:


THIS POSITION CAN BE REMOTE


We are seeking a creative and experienced community development and/or grant writing professional to help lead our internal and external teams of grant writers responsible for strategizing, developing and submitting competitive applications for various economic development programs at the national and state levels, including Federal and State New Markets Tax Credits (NMTCs). In this role, you will play a key role in generating competitive strategies, managing internal resources and external firms, overseeing process, and providing editorial control on applications, ensuring timely submission of high-quality grant proposals that align with each client’s mission and strategic goals.

Responsibilities:


· Develop and execute strategic plans to support the growth and success of our programs.

· Manage a team of application development resources, providing guidance, support, and training as needed, as well as direct writing as necessary.

· Collaborate with other departments to identify funding opportunities that align with our organization's mission and strategic goals.

· Lead and oversee the application development process to ensure the timely submission of high-quality grant proposals that align with our organization's mission and strategic goals.

· Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients to facilitate the development of material and foster strong partnerships.

· Participate with other business line leaders in external client marketing and development.

· Provide quality control oversight on interim and finished products, including editorial control for style, length, and accuracy as well as submission guidelines.


Qualifications:


· Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. economic or community development, nonprofit management, business administration, public policy, journalism, communications, etc).

· Minimum 4 years experience in New Markets Tax Credit-related investment, compliance or application development activity

· Minimum of 4 years of experience in project(?) management, with experience managing grant writers or similar staff preferred.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.

· Comfort with quantitative analysis, including basic use of Excel

· Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

· Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with funders, program staff, and other stakeholders.
