Our first system, the Allye Max, is an innovative 320kWh mobile energy storage system using repurposed electric vehicle batteries. It is two-times cheaper and has 60% lower embedded CO2 than other similar systems. Our teams are developing the hardware and software solutions to transform our energy is managed at the grid-edge.

As a head of manufacturing, you will not only be responsible for the assembly of prototypes and low-volume production of high-voltage energy storage systems but also for overseeing and leading the technical team to ensure operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the mechanical systems, products and components. Conduct regular designs reviews and release through manufacturing gates.
  • Development of Technical Specifications, ESOW’s and Targets (Programme level cascaded to component)
  • Oversee and sign off CAD drawings.
  • Identify and resolve design or manufacturing issues using CAD and analysis tools.
  • Provide schemes, final designs and release drawings aligned to project requirements
  • Generate RFQ/RFI documents & support supplier engagement
  • Coordination of engineering activities carried out by the suppliers/partners – Design/Development, Test/Validation, Manufacture
  • Provide technical guidance and support to technicians and support the assembly and production of the first systems.
  • BOM - Generate & track cost and weight status against target
  • Lead the generation and maintenance of system and component level DFMEA’s.
  • Lead the development/management of DVP&R schedule
  • Prepare and present technical presentations to suppliers and the team including any technical, concerns & timing
  • Attend design reviews and support package and vehicle integration meetings as required
  • Oversight of all manufacturing operations with overall responsibility for production, maintenance, quality, and other production-related activities.
  • Coordinate manufacturing activities by collaborating with department managers to ensure that manufacturing objectives are achieved in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Develop and control profit plans and budgets.
  • Implement cost-effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages, and salaries.
  • Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards.
  • Foster shop floor organisation and plant cleanliness among plant personnel (5S).
  • Provide leadership and training to relevant staff to achieve the company's goals and objectives. Demonstrate qualities, effective communication, decision-making, problem-solving abilities, financial management, and business acumen

Qualifications

Must-haves

  • BEng degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering.
  • 5+ years of progressive manufacturing experience.
  • 3+ years of supervisory/management experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Team player and builder who drives value-added results.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing operations, project planning, cost control, and program management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence others and interact effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Experience in ISO 9001 or other similar Quality Management Standards.
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing programs and business initiatives.
  • Strong internal and external communication and team-building skills.
  • Ability to inspire and develop all levels of the organisation.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Previous lean management experience is preferred.
  • Experience in expanding production sites is preferred.
  • Experience in a start-up manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of battery manufacturing or high-voltage assembly.
