Here's how a  Solar Senior Project Manager for our Denver office contributes to our team:

Responsibilities

  • Provides input on estimating, budget development and cost control on the self-perform scope in the USA.
  • Reviews and participates in monthly forecast meeting for US Solar Projects.
  • Assists local district operations managers with sourcing, hiring, and retention of self-perform craft ad supervisors to ensure we have craft and supervisors required to perform the work.
  • Works with operations managers to develop and manage a consistent approach to per diems, hourly pay, out-of-town vs local, direct hire vs labor company – this would include developing the approach for estimates through project delivery to ensure our approach is consistent with the local practices and what is required;
  • Performs workforce availability analysis and applicable craft rates at potential project location to support estimates.
  • Develops training and onboarding programs for our craft and supervisors consistent with their development with respect to self-performing work.
  • Create and implement Solar 101 training to new solar staff.
  • Reviews and recommend corrective measures to sites based on project metrics i.e. LCR’s, productivity tracking, quality, safety, etc.
  • Leads solar specific equipment/tools/materials purchasing, recommendations, and manages the deployment of the fleet.
  • Performs analysis of equipment rental vs purchase to ensure appropriate financial decision is made.
  • Develops PCL’s own internal craft network to reduce or eliminate the use of labor brokers. 
  • Works with operations managers and labor brokers to ensure a supply of adequate craft labor for our projects; and
  • Performing other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience successfully working on Construction Projects.
  • BA/BS degree, MS or MBA preferred.
  • Knowledge of EPC business
  • Skilled in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, P6, and other PCL programs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication (verbal and writing) and coordination skills.
  • Autonomous: take initiative and organize work in an independent manner.
  • Understanding of self-perform productivity rates, subcontract productivity rates and Labor Cost Reports, and ability to interpret cost reports.
  • Spanish language is a plus.

 

The salary range for this position is between $108,000 and $135,000 per annum, based on experience and qualifications.
