We are looking for an electrical design engineer who specialises in Solar PV and has a genuine passion for creating renewable design solutions.

What to expect from this role:

• You will be working closely with the commercial and sales team, ensuring you can provide accurate design solutions aligned to your client’s brief.
• Analysing metered half hourly data sets and annual costs; this will aid with the accuracy of your designs, optimising both carbon and financial benefits.
• You will be creating conceptual designs for roof and ground Solar PV systems, and yield forecasts using a range of design software such as PVSOL.
• Delivering comprehensive design packages for pre-contract project proposals, and carrying out post-contract commitments including design, surveys, technical specifications & wiring calculations
• Conducting comprehensive handovers to internal procurement and project delivery teams, supporting the success of installations, commissioning, and O&Ms for projects
• Supporting the development and maintenance of supplier relationships through cost analysis and benchmarking exercises

What we are looking for you from you:

• A strong understanding of electrical demand and energy consumption data
• A background in electrical design engineering, preferably in a dedicated Solar PV design role
• A degree in a relevant discipline is desirable but not essential for this role.
• Experience/knowledge of energy storage systems and renewable energy technologies & schemes
• Extensive knowledge of roofing and roof sub structures, and a good understanding of design requirements for procurement and construction purposes
• Knowledge and application of the principles of financial analysis and capital project justification
