Job Description

TOMRA is expanding our Group Sustainability team and looking for a purpose-driven individual to help deliver on our ambitious climate strategy to become a net-zero company by 2050 and setting science-based targets (SBT) to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in line with the global target of the Paris Agreement to stay below 1.5 degrees global warming.

Current priorities to deliver on this strategy include a) preparing for external validation of our SBTs within 2024; b) expanding annual reporting of indirect emissions (scope 3) to cover all relevant emission categories across TOMRA’s value chain; and c) launching a decarbonization roadmap and implementation plan addressing the key emission reduction levers that TOMRA can and must operate to decouple financial and emissions growth and meet our targets.

Main responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate Group-level efforts related to the implementation of TOMRA's decarbonization roadmap
  • Provide technical support and advisory on decarbonization strategy and initiatives to Division sustainability teams and project implementation teams
  • Serve as the leading company expert on GHG accounting and reporting, working closely with Group Finance (process owner) to ensure robust reporting processes that meet both internal and external demands for GHG data. 
  • Develop, maintain, and work to continuously improve processes for Scope 3 data collection and calculations - harmonized across TOMRA Divisions
  • Lead and coordinate Group-level efforts to conduct/ update TCFD-aligned climate risk assessment
  • Responsible for climate-related disclosures in corporate sustainability reporting, incl. ESRS-aligned Sustainability statement and CDP
  • Work closely with others members of the Group Sustainability team, supporting each other to deliver on key priorities for the department

Qualifications

  • Min 3-5 years’ experience working in carbon management/ climate action planning (preferably corporate or consulting)
  • Degree in business/ accounting/ sustainability/ climate & energy mgmt./ env. engineering
  • Strong knowledge of the GHG Protocol and practical experience with GHG accounting, incl. Scope 3
  • Commercial mindset with good understanding of business and corporate management
  • Experience from roles with high degree of stakeholder management / engagement is desired
  • Experience with sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g. ESRS, GRI, TCFD, CDP, etc.) and understanding of the regulatory landscape for sustainability management (CSRD, EU Taxonomy, etc.) is a plus
