Fluence seeks a Director of Growth with expertise in energy storage markets to expand Fluence’s market share in the Americas region, primarily focused on North America. This role demands a strategic, analytical mindset and demonstrated experience in market development, preferably in energy storage or renewable energy sectors. In this role you will contribute individually, work across internal teams, and manage external advisors. The successful candidate will grow this function and lead an effective team over the next several years.

What does a Director, Strategic Growth – Americas, do at Fluence?

    • Develop and execute region and market level growth strategies based on market insights and analytics to increase market share and revenue.
    • Understand and influence market behaviors and perform early–stage new market entry planning and ongoing offer development. Innovate to unlock new markets and customer segments for Fluence products.
    • Educate customers and stakeholders in key markets on the benefits of energy storage related products and services. Develop programs and processes to transition customers from early stages to meaningful sales opportunities.
    • Perform comprehensive data analysis to identify market trends and opportunities and shape the strategic direction for Fluence in the Americas region (western hemisphere).
    • Model customer business cases and quantify differentiated value for Fluence to pursue specific market and customer segments.
    • Monitor and report on the evolution of markets. Inform, advise and collaborate with Product Development, Marketing, and Sales, incorporating an analytical approach into growth plans.
    • Develop and utilize advanced data analytics and AI tools for deep industry insights and competitive strategy development.
    • Manage and collaborate with third-party market analyst firms to enhance internal data capabilities and market understanding.
    • Develop, support, and manage competitor intelligence and customer feedback activities to gain insights into market dynamics, competitive positioning, and growth strategy.
    • Reinforce and deepen a culture focused on data-driven analysis, emphasizing analytical methods in business growth.
    • Lead industry efforts in support of the energy transition while promoting and enhancing the value case for Fluence products and services.

What does the ideal candidate look like?

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Economics, or a related field with a strong analytical emphasis required.
    • At least seven years in growth-oriented roles, with significant experience in data analytics within the energy storage or renewable energy sectors required.
    • Strong knowledge of market participants, stakeholder landscape, and energy storage customer segments across the region.
    • Proven ability in leveraging advanced analytics, market intelligence, and customer feedback for business expansion and strategy development.
    • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills required. The candidate should be capable of creating compelling arguments and communicating them to both internal and external audiences.
    • Mastery in data analysis tools and methodologies, especially relevant to the energy market.
    • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, adept at strategically applying complex analytical data.
    • Strong project management skills with high attention to detail.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
    • A team player with a global mindset.
