NY State Solar is continuing our explosive growth and expanding our electrical installation team.
We are in need of adding a full-time Solar Service Technician to our growing construction team.
Position Overview:
As a Solar Service Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance and maintenance of our solar energy systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in electrical systems, solar troubleshooting, and general solar field service. This position requires a hands-on, jack-of-all-trades individual who is comfortable working on rooftops and can efficiently address various challenges related to solar installations.
Responsibilities for a Solar Service Technician:
Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of solar energy systems.
Perform repairs and replacements of faulty components, including string downs and panels.
Diagnose and rectify electrical issues within solar installations.
Collaborate with the installation team to ensure new projects meet quality standards.
Complete service reports and maintain accurate records of work performed.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols.
Provide on-site training and support to customers as needed.
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
Qualifications for a Solar Service Technician:
Proven experience in solar field service and maintenance.
Some electrical background with ability to share relevant knowledge.
Previous solar troubleshooting experience.
Comfortable working on rooftops with pitched surfaces.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication skills with customers and team members.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Cannot have a fear of heights
Ability to work in all types of weather conditions (hot and sunny as well as colder temperatures)
Ability to climb ladders/stairs
