Play a pivotal role in our clients’ emission reduction journeys within the Power, Utilities and Renewables (PUR) sector. At Deloitte.

The Decarbonisation team is a group of subject matter experts that work with clients across all sectors to understand, and reduce, their impact on climate change.

In this role, you will:

• collaborate closely with our PUR clients to unpack the sustainability-related business risks and opportunities relevant to their net zero journeys;
• support creation of energy transition scenarios and strategies;
• set ambitious, but achievable, decarbonisation targets in line with Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and other leading practices and assist with transition planning;
• have a deep understanding of abatement opportunities and challenges in the PUR space;
• develop roadmaps for GHG emission reductions by identifying abatement opportunities, their associated costs and understanding the challenges clients face in implementing solutions (with a focus on scope 3 but also scope 1 and 2 emissions);
• extensive expertise in managing and implementing energy transition projects in the PUR sector.

This role requires you to leverage your extensive PUR sector expertise within the domain of energy transition and decarbonisation. You should have expertise in an advisory role to help clients navigate the challenges involved in decarbonising. A strong command of the GHG emissions reporting environment is crucial, as well as creative and practical solutions to allow our clients to make real change.

To be successful in this role, you have:

• a Bachelor / (Post) Master degree in Accountancy /  Finance / Economics / Energy/ Sustainability;
• at least six years of related work experience
• strong business development expertise
• deep expertise in energy transition, renewables, decarbonization, abatement technologies and strategic oversight of challenges and opportunities in the PUR sector
• strong communication skills, including fluent written and spoken Dutch and English
• strong project management and implementation skills
• the ability to work independently and as part of a team, strong attention to detail, Excel and Powerpoint skills and a self-starter mentality.

The Decarbonisation team consists of 14 professionals and is part of the wider, rapidly growing and highly diverse, Risk Advisory Sustainability team of 85+. We work flexibly; remotely or in the office at your choice. We work collaboratively across the broader team and your PUR sector expertise will be relevant across the many exciting projects occurring.
