Job Description

Purchasing Development is taking the next step in how our Business Teams operate! This new role has been created to enable the business teams to take business development to next level, where we can utilize each core roles strengths and focus our efforts. So how does this role fit in? Well, the Purchasing Business Analyst is there to enable the teams to take fact-based decision on qualitative data. This will enable us to work faster & more accurate!

As a Purchasing Business Analyst, you will report to a Business Development Manager (BDM) & supporting several business teams. This is a great way to broaden your network and knowledge of our business landscape. This also means that you are a critical link in knowledge sharing between teams. You will combine your knowledge in analytics with your business understanding to create predictive and prescriptive insights. You will analyze complex business challenges by using both internal and external data sources and formulate insights and analyses in a clear and simple way to meet business teams needs. Your role will be crucial to identify opportunities and improvements, cost savings, process efficiencies, and performance optimization within the teams you work with.
This is a new role, which means that you will be a part of co-creating the ways of working and responsibilities!

Here are some of the activities that you will lead:

  • KPI/APL Follow up, analyzing and highlighting deviations, aggregating the team results.
  • For various reporting purposes secure a consistent foundation, gather, process, compile and analyze data linking to Logistics, Engineering and Supplier Development to enabling fact-based decision making, preparing/visualization the different source of data, showing the history, trends, benchmarking, connection between different data
  • Supporting the creation/execution/follow up of APL, SDP, PDP, BCPs, RFQs* or other processes.
  • identify relevant data sources, verify data accuracy, source missing information and organize data in usable formats to support analysis and fact-based decision making
  • Support and guide the teams in addressing business issues or opportunities through data-analysis

*APL=Action planning, SDP=Supplier Development process, PDP=Purchase development process, BCP=Business contingency planning, RFQ=Request for quotation 

Qualifications

The absolute most important competence in this role is to be curious & have great analytic capabilities. You are able to process large amounts of data, draw conclusions and make fact-based recommendations for the business team members to act on. You see the value, and find motivation, in enabling fact-based decision making through data and facts. Communication is key in this assignment. Both to communicate data in a simple, insightful and inspiring way as well as enable your colleagues to take action. Your collaboration interface will be big so stakeholder management will be very important!  

We also believe that you have:

  • A solid background from one of the core business team roles
  • Deep understanding in Purchase Development processes, ways of working and KPI landscape.
  • Comprehensive understanding of roles and responsibilities in the Business Team.
  • Good knowledge of Sales planning, Supply planning, Capacity planning and interdependencies.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of tools/applications such as, Microsoft Excel, ISOT (IKEA Sourcing Optimisation Tool), Qlik Sense, Power BI etc.
  • Desire to develop the business capabilities, identify business opportunities, find better ways and enable change.

In this role, you will work with business processes from both purchasing, logistics & engineering. We believe that you are extra strong in one of these three. Once you are in the role, you will get the support to make sure that you close any competence gaps, at the same time you will train your fellow Purchasing Business Analyst-colleagues within your area of expertise!

Additional Information

This position will be based in Bangalore, India. There will be limited business trips in this role.
