Who we’re looking for

 

Toyota’s Production Engineering Powertrain Battery department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Production Engineer to work in the BEV Battery Planning group.

 

The primary responsibility of this position is to prepare and coordinate Powertrain battery equipment to support new model launches.

 

This position will be located at PEMC in Georgetown, Kentucky, and report to the Engineering Manager for BEV Battery planning.

 

What you’ll be doing

  • Developing process plans for battery production lines within the Powertrain department with direct support from the Manager
  • Directly supporting other engineers or technicians through a mentorship
  • Leading the cost planning, budget creation, machine specification, procurement, validation, installation, pre-production trials and launch of battery production lines
  • Creating and maintaining detailed schedules and budgets for assigned area
  • Participate in cross-functional working groups across the local facility and corporate departments to achieve project goals
  • Participate in a mentor program to grow as an engineer and learn from others within the department

Qualifications

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering or similar technical field or 10+ years of equivalent experience in manufacturing
  • Experience in Production Preparation or Manufacturing and experience in the execution of capital projects, preferably from initial planning to the start of production.
  • Experience in creating and implementing processes in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience managing large capital projects over $2M, including creating and maintaining schedules, as well as tracking milestones from project creation to completion.
  • Understanding of GD&T & ability to read and interpret 2D drawings
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
  • Ability for business travel, both domestic and international, up to 50%
  • Ability to work weekends and shutdown work (such as July and December holidays) as needed

 

Added bonus if you have

  • Advanced degree, such as MS in Engineering or an MBA
  • Toyota Production Engineering experience
  • AutoCAD, or similar 2D drafting software experience
  • PLC experience, including the ability to investigate and troubleshoot
  • Experience and/or exposure to the battery manufacturing process
  • TBP completion through Panel
