Senior/Principal Energy and Carbon Consultant

Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 p/a
Hours: Full-Time 37.5 hours

Role overview:
We are looking for a forward-thinking team player to join our leading Sustainability Masterplanning team, positioned across Expedition Engineering and Useful Projects.
With an expansive portfolio of projects in the UK and overseas, candidates will deliver strategic consultancy and policy advice to support preplanning services on major regeneration projects, in addition to leading in the advancement of energy and carbon strategies for new and existing developments.
Successful candidates will have relevant experience in Energy Consulting or Building Services, with an interest in site wide energy infrastructure and energy masterplanning, including low carbon heating, energy networks, and renewables.

You will be responsible for:
• Supporting clients in the development of zero-carbon routemaps, illustrating ‘the art of the possible’.
• Clear communication and delivery of high-quality technical advice, client reports, technical publications, presentations, and training materials.
• Undertaking feasibility studies, reviewing different options against whole life carbon and cost criteria.
• Team supervision of energy and carbon modelling.
• Providing strategic energy and smart infrastructure design support.
• Preparing Sustainability and Energy Statements for planning, with a focus on sustainable development and decarbonisation.

Key considerations:
• BEng/BSc in Energy, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartership with relevant body.
• Experience in the design and delivery of MEP strategies across RIBA Stages.
• Residential energy modelling, including SAP and PHPP.
• Enhanced operational modelling using CIBSE TM54 and dynamic simulation (IES or similar).
• Interest in low carbon retrofit and energy audits for existing estates.
• Proactive approach to sharing knowledge and nurturing the development of others.
