GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Sort recyclable and non-recyclable materials on conveyor belt in MRF facility and equipment. Clean inside and outside areas of the MRF as required.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:  
•    Sort materials to required standard on sort line, meeting our organizational goals of quality.
•    Be prepared to work by arriving to position on the line on time with all PPE in place at the beginning of the shift and after breaks and lunch.
•    Follow the rotation schedule appropriately and with a flexible attitude, willingly switching to a different position when directed.
•    Report malfunctions and repair requirements to a supervisor.
•    Keep workspace clean and free of debris.
•    Sweep, shovel, and rake materials as directed.
•    Adhere to all safety policies.
•    Work courteously and tactfully with employees and supervisors as a cooperative team member.
•    Perform other duties and projects as assigned, responding respectfully to supervisors’ requests.
 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
•    Works indoors and outdoors; subject to seasonal and adverse weather conditions.
•    Subject to noise from equipment operation.
•    Subject to strong odors.
•    Wear appropriate required personal protective equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:  
•    Manual dexterity
•    Positive attitude
•    Punctual and dependable
•    Flexibility of work schedule

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
•    Reliable, good attendance, punctual 
•    Ability to follow written and verbal directions and to complete assigned tasks on schedule.
•    Ability to learn from directions, observations and mistakes and apply procedures using good judgment.
•    Ability to work independently and as part of a team; ability to interact appropriately with others.
•    Ability to work with supervision, receiving instructions/feedback, coaching/counseling and/or action/discipline.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
•    Ability to lift up to 50 lb.
•    Not sensitive to motion sickness or strong odors
•    Must be able to stand for at least 12 hours, 4 days/week
•    Ability to work in all temperature conditions
•    Constant bending and twisting, reaching and grabbing with hands
•    Walking up and down stairs several times per day (all positions are upstairs)
•    Sweeping and shoveling materials
•    Work outdoors and indoors.
