System Engineer Intern (Paid position)

POSITION SUMMARY

As a System Engineer Intern, you will be a critical part of the engineering of Lion Energy’s next generation of Energy Storage and Portable Power Products.  You will be on the front line of capturing requirements, architecting solutions, and collaborating across the engineering organization. 

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

  • Plan, create, and share systems engineering artifacts such as Concepts of Operations, requirements, system architectures, design solutions, trade studies, interface definitions, and verification planning and execution. 

  • Learn and work within a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) environment. 

  • Collaborate with engineers from all disciplines to understand their needs and limitations in regard to the system architecture and requirements. 

  • Participate in reviews of system designs and system engineering artefacts. 

  • Proactive and positive attitude brought to adapting system design changes due to ambiguity and changes in stakeholder needs. 

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • Pursing a degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline. 

  • Some level of relevant engineering experience (Preferred) 

  • Interest in Renewable Energy and Power Electronics domain.  

  • Experience preferred but not required: 

  • Working knowledge of System Modeling Language (SysML) and Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) fundamentals. 

  • Experience with Sparx Enterprise Architect or Cameo System Modeler 

  • Familiarity with Agile, and ASPICE frameworks  

  • Understanding of Embedded Software Development 

  • Knowledge of Energy Storage Systems 

COMPENSATION 

The intern will be remunerated hourly at $20/H.
