We are hiring a Nighttime Heavy Truck and Trailer Mechanic to add to our gowing team! A Nighttime Truck & Trailer Mechanic must be able to repair units on site. Must be able to come up with quick solutions to keep equipment productive. Sudden schedule changes may happen must be able to adapt and make changes quickly. This individual will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of equipment from yellow iron, to multiple types of trailers, late model diesel semis, and more. There is never a dull moment, and plenty of opportunity to learn and grow. DUTIES Must be familiar with diesel engines, all makes. Hydraulic experience is a plus. Must be able to lift heavy objects to perform daily tasks. Must be qualified to perform DOT FMCSA annual inspections. Perform engine, electrical, hydraulic, and chassis repairs on wide variety of equipment. Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment. Diagnose, adjust, and repair various types of truck equipment including, but not limited to the following: Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems, Starters/Alternators, Air conditioning systems, Fan clutches, Engine electronics, Power steering systems, Engines (diesel), Transmissions (manual), Clutches, Differentials, etc. Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions. Use basic hand tools, precision instruments, as well as power tools, welding equipment. Document and upload pictures of work performed, parts used, and all findings observed on Repair Orders. Work with a high degree of independence. Maintain a high level of productivity and be able to work within or close to most standard repair times. Communicate with management and support team. Perform all work in compliance with organizational safety, health and environmental policies, and federal regulations, to include OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
