JOB SUMMARY: This position is part of the Department of Energy, Office of International Affairs, Office of Resource Management. As a Security Specialist, you will provide advisory services on security-related program requirements for the office, and will receive analytical work assignments involving: physical security, personnel security, information resource management, foreign national visits and assignments, which includes Foreign Access Central Tracking System (FACTS) and other programmatic assignments. MAJOR DUTIES: As a Security Specialist, you will: Support the classified information security program, assisting in the planning, development, and implementation of security policies and procedures to ensure proper safeguarding of classified material in accordance with federal and Department of Energy policies. Manage Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) accreditation and access. Support the physical security program, ensuring the protection of sensitive or classified information, personnel, facilities, installations, or other sensitive materials, resources, or processes against criminal, terrorist, or hostile activities. Support the implementation, execution, and management of Department of Energy's credentialing program. Process foreign national visits and assignments using the Foreign Access Central Tracking System (FACTS). Investigate and analyze a variety of unusual information security problems, questions, or conditions associated with general questions about security.
