GTI Fabrication is seeking a Battery Energy Storage Specialist.

The candidate will be responsible for managing, preparing and updating the Storage Design technical specifications, defining the project's design, assessing component performances, performing the selection of main storage equipment during tender phase for each specific project, interacting with suppliers, supporting the engineering team in relevant technical alignment and in the activities during construction and commissioning.

What you will do:
- Receiving and analyzing the business model of projects, developing functional requirements, conceptual design and sizing, including studies for defining the battery degradation period and countermeasures and providing a preliminary CAPEX estimation
- Collaborating with the Project Engineer (PE) and with other specialists in the preparation of the project Technical Specifications package (including layout, SLD, etc.) for Request for Offer to suppliers, analyzing relevant technical proposals
- Elaborating project configuration and performance assessment calculating the main project data (Available Power, Energy, Efficiency, lifetime)
- Supporting project teams during the project execution, assessing all changes occurred during the process and validating performance test results at component and system level ? Defining operating procedures, algorithms and/or guidelines for the plant design and performances calculation, also collecting feedbacks from the operation of Storage Power Plants
- Managing the technical assessment of suppliers to be included or renewed in the Company’s vendor list related to storage equipment supporting the scouting activities for new storage products
- Managing, preparing, and updating on a regular basis the technical specifications and design guidelines to be used for any Request For Offer and to lead the Offline Technical Alignment of main storage equipment, in collaboration with other engineering units
- Collaborating with the Operation and Maintenance department collecting feedbacks from the operation of Storage Power Plants
Who you are:
- Bachelor / Master’s Degree in engineering (electrical/industrial engineering is preferable) ? 3-5 years’ experience in energy sector (renewable is preferred) in a technical role ? Experience in IPPs, Consulting Company or Battery Storage suppliers in a technical role will be considered a plus
- Proved Experience in Energy Storage and/or Lithium-ion technology is considered a plus ? Ability to work within a Global Framework in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams ? Knowledge of energy storage technologies in particular Li-ion Batteries and Battery Management System
- Knowledge of power converter technologies
- Knowledge of grid connection process and requirements, electrical substation and power conversion system
- Knowledge of informatics: Microsoft Office, AutoCAD or similar, Software for Energy Storage sizing is a plus
- Knowledge of Matlab/Python is a plus
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Fluent in English is a plus
