Development Manager - Wind, Solar, BESS

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Development Manager to lead the planning, execution, and management of renewable energy projects, specifically focusing on Wind, Solar, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in renewable energy project development, a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks, and a proven track record of successfully delivering projects from conception to completion. This role will require effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to ensure the successful development and implementation of sustainable energy solutions.

Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning and Strategy:
   • Develop comprehensive project plans and strategies for Wind, Solar, and BESS projects, considering technical, financial, regulatory, and environmental factors.
   • Identify potential project sites, assess feasibility, and conduct initial site evaluations.
   • Define project goals, scope, budget, and timeline in alignment with company objectives.
2. Permitting and Regulatory Compliance:
   • Navigate through local, regional, and national regulatory requirements for renewable energy projects.
   • Prepare and submit permit applications, environmental impact assessments, and other necessary documentation.
   • Collaborate with legal and regulatory teams to ensure compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
3. Stakeholder Engagement:
   • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including landowners, local communities, government agencies, and utilities.
   • Address community concerns, facilitate public meetings, and promote transparent communication.
4. Financial Analysis and Funding:
   • Conduct financial analyses, including cost estimation, revenue projections, and ROI assessments.
   • Identify potential funding sources, grants, incentives, and investment opportunities.
   • Collaborate with finance teams to secure necessary funding for project development.
5. Contracting and Procurement:
   • Manage the procurement process for equipment, materials, and services required for project development.
   • Negotiate contracts with suppliers, contractors, and service providers.
   • Ensure adherence to quality standards and project specifications.
6. Project Execution and Monitoring:
   • Oversee project implementation, including construction, installation, and commissioning.
   • Monitor project progress, track milestones, and address any issues or delays.
   • Implement effective risk management strategies to mitigate potential project disruptions.
7. Reporting and Documentation:
   • Prepare regular project status reports, updates, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
   • Maintain accurate project documentation, including permits, contracts, and technical specifications.
8. Team Leadership and Collaboration:
   • Lead cross-functional project teams, providing clear direction, guidance, and support.
   • Foster a collaborative and innovative environment that encourages teamwork and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Renewable Energy, Environmental Science, Business, or related field. Master's degree is a plus.
• Proven experience in renewable energy project development, with a focus on Wind, Solar, and BESS.
• Strong knowledge of renewable energy technologies, industry trends, and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent project management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement and team collaboration.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to conduct financial assessments and feasibility studies.
• Familiarity with environmental impact assessments, permitting processes, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience in negotiating contracts, procuring equipment, and managing project contractors.
• Leadership qualities to inspire and guide project teams toward successful outcomes.
