Job Description

Leap29 are currently assisting a leading and innovative consultancy, who are accelerating the global energy transition by bringing their expert services to the market.

My client is searching for a motivated Wind Energy Engineer to join their team based in Brussels. The right candidate will be experienced in wind energy, technical due diligence, resource assessment and project development, supported by a technical mindset combined with a commercial flair. 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conducting technical due diligence for wind installations in Benelux, Eastern Europe, Middle-East and Asia. This can include but is not limited to:
    • Technical review of main components of wind turbines
    • Review of contracts (TSA, O&M contract, Power Purchase Agreement, Grid connection, etc.)
    • Review of land leases and building permits
    • Review of environmental impact studies
    • Review of long-term energy yield assessments
  • Liaising with the project Lender and/or Sponsors and other project stakeholders.
  • Delivering the technical due diligence studies following the planning, budget, and the internal quality process of execution.

Requirements:

  • You have 3-5 years of experience in the field of wind energy, preferably in wind consultancy.
  • Track record of technical due diligence on wind projects specifically with wind turbine contracts reviews (EPC, WTG supply contract, O&M, PPA) as Lender's/Owner's technical advisor.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).
  • You hold a Master's degree in renewable energy engineering or equivalent through experience.
  • You demonstrate very strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Your presentation skills are strong, and you enjoy participating in group discussions.
  • You thrive while working in a team but have no problem finishing work on your own either.

Preferred:

  • Experience in the solar energy field.
  • Knowledge of French or Dutch or additional languages.
  • Experience with technical wind turbine inspections/construction monitoring.
  • Available for regular travel for shorter and longer periods.
