Description: The Lead Custodian is responsible for ensuring that the cleaning and maintaining of the zoos buildings, viewing windows, signs and removal of litter from our walkways are being completed. The lead custodian is responsible for making sure rental areas are clean for each event. Work schedule may include early or late start times and working weekends and holidays as required to meet the zoos operating needs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for cleaning and maintaining a clean condition all assigned areas. Work performed must meet established quantity and quality standards.
Responsible for re-stocking of products for assigned areas.
Responsible for maintaining in a clean condition Janitorial and other storage areas.
Responsible for performing requested event set up and take downs. Work performed must be done in a timely fashion and meet requestors requirements.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Report any issues to Grounds/Custodial manager.
Skills:
Ability to work with little or no supervision.
Ability to interact professionally with both staff and visitors.
Ability to prepare inventory usage reports, daily time sheets etc.
Ability to perform non housekeeping tasks requiring unskilled or semi-skill levels.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work outside year round in inclement weather conditions such as extreme high/low temperatures, snow and rain conditions. Must be able to work on his or her feet for extended periods of time and have the ability to bend, stoop, extend oneself etc., that is required to perform assigned tasks. Must be able to work off of ladders, scaffolding and lifts. Must be able lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
Other Requirements
Must be at least 18 years old.
Must have a valid drivers license.
Previous custodial experience preferred.
