Job Description Summary:
Renantis is looking for two Solar Project Engineers to be based in either Milan or Rome, who will support the delivery Renantis’ solar projects worldwide. Our projects range from site identification and resource assessment through to contracting and construction.
The Solar Project Engineers will contribute to the development of feasibility and conceptual studies, preliminary design & cost estimate studies, energy resource assessments and yield analysis and well as participating in technical due diligence.
Support delivery of all technical aspect of projects including yield assessment, geotechnical, grid connection, technology selection, engineering design and constructability related to the company’s solar projects
Conduct technical due diligence of solar PV projects
Work closely with business development department to ensure projects are appropriately assessed and key technical risks are identified
Perform site visits to assess the site
Investigate BESS integration, sizing and design into solar projects, and gauge the viability of including BESS into permitting
Identify key components of the solar PV plants to achieve cost effectiveness and system reliability
Optimisation exercise with regards to PV layouts, cable loss calculations, inverter selection and energy yield assessments
Create technical write-ups and the Scope of Works for development studies
Provide input into site specific project development budgets and delivery programmes
Assist procurement with generation of CAPEX estimates
Use AutoCAD/GIS software to draft layouts, elevations and single line diagrams
Review EPC, equipment supply and O&M proposals from contractors
Other tasks defined by the line manager
Capacity to work in an international team
English and Italian Speaking
Experience in AutoCAD or similar
Experience in PVSyst
Knowledge of Microsoft tools
Pragmatic and creative problem solving
Excellent communication skills (internal and external stakeholders and partners, technical and non-technical)
Full clean driving license
Desirable skills & experience
Experience in BESS modelling and design
Other languages are desirable
Experience in using PVDesign
Involvement in PV plant construction
Understanding project consent process in Italy
