Job Description

As a leader in the metals recycling industry, American Iron and Metals (AIM) is your environmentally friendly partner for efficient recycling of your metals, end-of-life vehicles and construction scrap, as well as managing your most complex demolition and decommissioning projects. We also offer the most innovative and reliable products and alloys for the electronics industry.

AIM Recycling is one of the most technologically advanced metal recyclers in North America. Its equipment and processes propel AIM Recycling on the international scene.

This role will assist with developing and controlling procurement in Hydrocarbons and raw materials operation procurement, used in the various AIM operations.

The incumbent, reporting into manager strategic sourcing, is responsible for the strategic souring of the assigned indirect category while ensuring the best overall value for the company. This position will be responsible for contract negotiations and the development and maintenance of strong supplier relationships.

Support the development and implementation of short/medium term strategies for the appropriate procurement category. Support operations by providing business solutions for on-site requirements with consideration of overall supply chain strategy and utilizing basic total cost of ownership principles.

 

  • Identify and secure new suppliers
  • Obtain the best value for service and price
  • Full cycle of transactions and purchase orders
  • Monitor shipment and delivery of goods

Qualifications

  • 7+ years procurement experience within raw materials and energy (hydrocarbons)
  • Education in business, finance or engineering
  • Solid technical understanding and ability within the category
  • Innovative approach and ability to take on responsibility
  • Communicate clearly and effectively
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other internal and external stakeholders
  • This position is ideal for an individual with an appropriate balance of technical ability and procurement people skills
