Job Description

  • Be the main technical interface of the battery system to both internal and external stake holders
  • Internal stakeholder includes project management, manufacturing, etc.
  • External stakeholder includes OEMS, suppliers, etc.
  • Understands the overall functionality of Li-Ion Battery Systems in automotive applications and know how the sub components designs (e.g. cells, relays, SW, etc.) are affected
  • Translates the customer’s needs into well written technical requirements that are concise, implementable, and testable
  • Able to perform impact analysis and coordinate engineering changes 
  • Able to identify tests needed and review the results to ensure systems requirements are met
  • Able to perform failure analysis and resolve technical issues in the lab and the vehicle
  • Interface with project stakeholders and external customers on technical issues regarding the 48V Battery Pack.
  • Analyze customer requirements to ensure alignment with the platform implementation and identify any gaps. Perform impact analysis on the requirement gaps and identify risks and potential solutions.
  • Cooperate with the global engineering teams in (e.g. in Germany, India, etc.) to ensure proper alignment on the 48V Battery Pack product development goals and to ensure on-time delivery of the product to customers with quality.
  • Support the OEMS with proper integration of the 48V Battery Pack into the vehicle. Analyze field data and resolve technical issues. 
  • Document and present technical material to both internal project stakeholders and external customers
  • Support issue resolution with other engineering discipline teams such as Hardware Design, Software, and Validation teams.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in automotive and/or battery related engineering fields, e.g. electrical, computer, automotive, power electronics, or aerospace etc.
  • General understanding of batteries or vehicles
  • Ability and willingness to learn new things
  • Independent thinker but can also work well within a team of diverse backgrounds
