Job Description

This is an on-site position in Irvine, CA.  Must have experience with the power / energy market.

The Power Technical Sales & Field Trainer, based in Southern CA is responsible to design, create and deliver power education across all professional trade channels (including architects, MEPs, dealers, solar and electrical contractors, and builders) both virtually as well as in-person, deliver smart home education sessions, plus manage and maintain the Savant Southern CA Training & Showcase Center.

The Power Technical Sales & Field Trainer will be responsible to work closely with the marketing and sales teams to support the new dealer and contractor onboarding process as well as new category education, including focus on first project support.

Power Technical Sales & Field Trainer will be responsible to:

  • Design, create and deliver power technical training across all professional channels plus support consumer brand and solution education, targeting:
    • Professional, continuing education for specifiers and builders
    • End-to-End Power Certification for contractors and dealers, including design, installation, configuration and programming
    • Consumer Power Education
  • Create mini, video education segments for new power solutions that can be quickly consumed by contractors, dealers and other trade professionals highlighting product features, technical tips, etc.
  • Deliver smart home technical training designed to certify new contractors and dealers, including education on design, installation, configuration and programming
  • Manage and maintain the Savant Southern CA Training & Showcase Center, including installing and showcasing the latest Savant technology, supporting scheduled certification training sessions and hosting local builder and specifier education events.
  • Support local dealers and contractors who are designing new Savant showrooms or expanding/updating Savant showrooms to include Savant power solutions.
  • Deliver targeted off-site and virtual education, including for-fee advanced training offered as a Savant Service to new dealers setting up their showroom or starting their first project.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience with power/energy market, including experience with contractors and builders; CI dealer experience is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, or 3+ years of technical sales, energy and smart home product experience.
  • Strong technical skills, including experience and comfort with energy and smart home solutions, deployment software, business and collaboration platforms; experience with e-Learning/LMS content platforms, audio/video capture and editing software is a plus.
  • Excellent understanding of appropriate English language style, syntax, and diction, for writing documents and communicating with other writers and Savant team members. Able to write in a manner intended to best communicate with specific audiences.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated, and operating independently (following appropriate analysis, which includes communicating with others, to complete multiple tasks over multiweek periods.
  • Empathetic communication; able to give and receive criticism when reviewing draft materials with editors, co-creators, and other Savant team members.
  • Disciplined, in following instructions and complying with business process workflows.
  • Ability to analyze and adapt business priorities in a fast paced and changing environment.
  • Ability to work a variable schedule with ability for quarterly/monthly travel.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
