Role Description
Form Energy is seeking a Senior Manager, Test Engineering to lead the test engineering and operations functions in our Berkeley, CA facility. In this role, you will be responsible for managing several subteams focused on: 1) designing new test equipment, 2) creating new test fixtures, 3) defining validation test plans, and 4) maintaining daily test lab operations. You will be managing a broad test team that supports the entire integrated product, from battery cells to assembled systems. In addition, you will be responsible for hiring new talent, with the goal of growing the team to service testing needs across our product development efforts. This is a key role for demonstrating product performance and reliability, as well as executing product validation.

What You'll Do:- Build a world-class team to design test stands, define validation test procedures, and execute daily test lab operations
- Lead a team of technical and operations managers to meeting test objectives for Form Energy’s office in Berkeley, CA, as well as with external third party labs
- Define and prioritize detailed test plans that align to key objectives in the various phases of Form Energy’s product development process
- Resource efforts to design new test equipment and test stands to meet the testing requirements of a new energy storage product
- Resource test operations and lab staffing, ranging from new prototype testing to product validation testing efforts
- Deliver comprehensive test data packages to internal customers, facilitating product verification, reliability, and validation
- Report on test team operational health metrics to program management and executive teams; strive for continuous improvement in operational excellence
- Coordinate with the software development team to define data pipeline needs to support test engineering efforts
- Coordinate with the facilities and EHS teams for landing new equipment and expanding our test facilities
What You'll Bring:- 4+ years in a management role, with experience in recruiting and hiring
- 5+ years of industry experience in test or product engineering for a hardware product
- Experience in designing new test equipment and methods to meet clearly defined test requirements
- Experience in test engineering or product development for batteries, energy storage, or electrochemical systems is preferred
- Bachelor’s (or advanced degree) in mechanical, chemical, or electrical engineering, or similar discipline

The salary range for this role is $217,475 - $268,290. The range listed is what we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and may be modified in the future. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
