What You’ll Be Doing:
Amogy is seeking a Catalyst Testing Technician to join our Catalyst Team. Your hands-on experience will help us improve catalyst performance and increase our testing throughput, accelerating discovery of novel materials and optimizing materials for large-scale use.
- Hours: Monday through Friday, 2nd shift (4PM-12AM)
- Packing quartz tube reactors, installing reactors into test stations and setting up experiments
- Operate, maintain and troubleshoot laboratory- and pilot-scale equipment, including rotovaps, tube furnaces, atmosphere-controlled furnaces, vacuum ovens, vacuum pumps, sonicator
- Interpret data from catalyst tests and present data in the form of graphs or tables to R&D Project Managers
- Maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment on a daily basis
- Work collaboratively with team members to schedule experiments and equipment usage
- Think critically and communicate proactively to address issues that come up in the lab
- Record notes and document results of catalyst experiments
Minimum requirements we seek:
- High school diploma and 1+ years of chemistry or chemical engineering laboratory experience
- Experience installing, leak-checking and troubleshooting compression fittings
- Experience building, leak-checking and maintaining highly pressurized gas systems preferred
- Experience with quartz tube reactors and furnaces preferred
- Excellent verbal communication skills
Preferred Experience
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment
- Experience reading P&ID diagrams preferred
The salary pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00 per hour. The salary pay range is applicable to positions physically based in New York City. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, job experience and physical location.
