What You Will Be Doing:
Amogy is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to execute research and development projects from concept to scale-up. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to design, analyze, integrate, and test reactor and separation technologies for Amogy’s next-generation power solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize structures and assemblies for ammonia cracking and separation systems.
- Perform conceptual and detailed mechanical design, including 3D modeling, material selection, stress analysis, design for manufacturing, equipment selection, and drawing generation.
- Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) analysis on parts/assemblies with various loading conditions and calculate fatigue and creep lifetime.
- Act as a Structure Analysis Lead for the projects assigned.
- Identify potential design issues and come up with solutions in the early design stage.
The minimum requirements we seek:
- BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering with 8+ years of professional experience, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering with 4+ years of professional experience.
- 5+ years of experience in advanced FEA commercial software such as ANSYS and Abaqus.
- Deep understanding of structural and thermal analysis principles and simulation tools, parametric modeling, manufacturing methods, and the overall product development process.
- Solid background in solid mechanics, dynamics, heat transfer, and thermal stress.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Prior experience designing and testing welded pressure vessels and heat transfer equipment.
- Experience developing high-temperature systems such as reactors, engines, or turbines.
- Working knowledge of combustion principles and catalytic process technology.
- Previously taken one or more hardware products from concept to commercialization.
