Role Summary
The Logistics Analyst, Operations (Warehouse) will report to the Logistics Manager and partner with other departments to ensure that logistics services are executed efficiently to meet the needs of the company. The Logistics Analyst will be responsible for executing shipping and receiving at one location in compliance with the company’s carrier base and regulations, processing goods receipts and issue out, maintaining accurate inventory, managing the on-site warehouse, and otherwise maintaining order and process in the department. This role will actively seek continuous improvement opportunities to minimize risk to the organization.
Responsibilities
- As the Logistics Analyst, Operation (Warehouse) for the Rivian Carson facility, you will be responsible for all functions related to inventory management, including the receipt, storage, issue, delivery and inventory of all direct material using WMS as well as indirect support equipment and supplies.
- Work closely with purchasing, manufacturing, engineering, and the production planning team to ensure material allowances are in line with forecasted build timelines, and that material shortages are communicated and reordered accordingly.
- Monitor incoming shipment requests from internal and external users, and action the requests appropriately based on commodity type, while confirming status and action plan to requestors.
- Oversee dock operations, ensuring drivers are safely and efficiently loaded unloaded, while cycling material to end users quickly.
- Continually monitor and update stock locations and labeling, ensuring goods are correctly stored and reflected in inventory tracking system.
- Other activities as deemed necessary by company needs.
Qualifications
- High School diploma/ GED is required, Bachelor's Degree preferred
- 1+ years of experience in the operational logistics industry, relevant experience in warehouse operations: shipping, receiving, inventory control, goods receipt, documentation, issue out, escalations/resolutions. 3+ years experience required if no bachelor's degree.
- General Awareness of Hazardous Materials/Dangerous Goods a plus.
- Experience executing operations in a high velocity environment.
- Able to track multiple priorities simultaneously and follow through.
- Experience motivating team members in constructive manner.
- Experience using a common ERP or WMS system, such as SAP, Oracle, etc.
- Prior forklift certification or experience required.
