Position Summary:
The Green Jobs Regional Consortium Director will play a critical role in supporting the launch and day-to-day activities of LACI’s Green Jobs Regional Consortium. As a recommendation from our Green Jobs Report, LACI will convene a regional consortium to mobilize key stakeholders to work together to achieve our green jobs targets by the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles, and our 2050 goal of creating 600,000 green jobs county-wide by setting and pursuing the milestones, targets, and actions needed for success. Reporting to the SVP of Enhancing Communities and in partnership with LACI Leadership, Workforce Development Team, and HR&A Advisors (Green Jobs Regional Consortium Consultant), this role will be responsible for convening a diverse group of stakeholders, conducting market discovery with employers, evaluating existing workforce programs, advocating for investment to support increased alignment between workforce training and employment opportunity, and developing a 2028 Green Jobs Regional Roadmap. This Regional Roadmap will outline career pathways to our 2028 green jobs targets in LA County, addressing regional challenges, and highlighting the programs, policies and tools that need to be developed to ensure inclusivity and alignment.
What You’ll Do:
- Roadmap Development:Build an engaging collaboration amongst partners to develop a 2028 Green Jobs Regional Roadmap that at outlines the key milestones, targets, and activities needed to create inclusive and aligned career pathways for green jobs
- Stakeholder Engagement:Identify and build relationships with key stakeholders from academia, industry, labor, workforce development, government, community, and philanthropy to share their valued perspectives as part of the Regional Consortium
- Consortium Development:Working closely with the CEO, SVP of Enhancing Community, and HR&A Advisors (Green Jobs Regional Consortium Consultant), determine goals for Green Jobs Regional Consortium, prioritize the initiatives we want to work towards, plan the strategies and actions needed, oversee day-to-day implementation and evaluation, and manage budget expenditures
- Event Coordination:Collaborate with key team members to host convenings with the Regional Consortium and establish a recurring cadence to achieve goals
- Market Discovery and Analysis:Through learnings from the Regional Consortium members, evaluate existing regional workforce programs and identify infrastructure gaps preventing alignment with market need
- Policy and Advocacy for Green Jobs Investment:In partnership with Government Relations Team, advocate for investment to support increased alignment between workforce training and employment opportunity
- Workforce Development Support:Utilize learnings from the Regional Consortium to inform LACI’s Green Jobs Workforce Development Programs, supporting recruitment efforts, training and curriculum, and internship placement

Requirements:
Basically, we want to know you can get the job done. This means you have:
- 5-7 years of experience in relevant work experience
- Familiarity with the green jobs landscape and ecosystem in Los Angeles County
- Political and/or policy experience
- Demonstrable competency in strategic planning
- Experience galvanizing support and inspiring action among multiple stakeholders around a common goal
- Effective with event planning and coordination
- Strong organizational skills including ability to assess dependencies, manage details, adhere to deadlines, and follow up on action items
- Excellent communication skills, including ability to coordinate the activities of partners over whom you have influence but not authority
- Experience with Google Suite, Microsoft Office and CRM System (eg. Salesforce)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage many moving projects at once
- Interest and ability to work as part of a small team in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in the green jobs ecosystem preferred (eg. workforce development, government, labor, community, industry, etc.)
- A proactive, pro-environment, pro-solutions professional dedicated to making the world a cleaner, safer, better place to live in through the advancement of high-road green career pathways
- While LACI is a non-profit, it more closely resembles a start-up with a rapidly changing environment. The successful candidate will need to play multiple positions well, be comfortable in a results-oriented culture, and not require day-to-day hand holding to be successful
Position Details:
This is a full-time position, starting immediately. LACI operates out of the La Kretz Innovation Campus, in the bustling Downtown LA Arts District. Since we are rapidly growing, you will be getting in on the ground floor at LACI, with the opportunity to evolve with us and shape your future here.
Salary Range: Director range for this role $80-95k commensurate with experience, education, skills, etc and total compensation package including health benefits, 401k match, professional development, commuter benefits and more.
