SUMMARY OF ROLE

SunPower is seeking a Senior Performance Engineer for residential business unit.  Senior Performance Engineer will be responsible for data validation, performance reporting and analysis and is expected to interact directly with Energy Assurance stakeholders and/or Site Owners for any system performance-related activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Possesses deep understanding of the functions across business units..
    • Research methods to improve modeling of PV Systems and contribute towards setting company-wide performance standards..
    • Complete performance investigations using data from O&M and industry research to verify and update modeling assumptions..
    • Offers guidance and support to level 1 Performance Engineers
    • Identify gap in process and develop tools and methods to improve process efficiency and work quality.
    • Consistently meets productivity metrics while adhering to standard process.
    • Can work regularly and consistently with no supervision.
    • Actively participates in the design review process.
    • In charge of data analysis, issue identification and delivery of Performance Guarantee reports to Customers.
    • May be assigned to support financier portfolio reporting (monthly, quarterly, and annual reports)
    • Regularly communicates with internal teams to align/improve process.
    • Directly clarifies gray areas with stakeholders pertaining to non-standard requests.
    • Facilitates process knowledge transfer and keeps process documents updated.

RELATED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Preferred educational background: 
    • Preferred educational background: Bachelor’s degree in STEM courses.
    • Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic, Civil, Mechanical, Computer/Telecommunications, Chemical)
    • Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Mathematics
    • At least 2-4 years of related work experience in system performance engineering and analytics or equivalent.
    • Advanced understanding of PV technology, solar power, power generation, data acquisitionoAdvanced knowledge on at least one on each tool category:
    • Data Analytics Tools (MS Excel, SQL, Tableau, Python)
    • Performance Analysis Tools (PVWatts, PVSol, PVSyst, SAM, PVGrid, PVSim)
    • PV Design Solutions (Aurora, BlueSol, Helioscope, PVSketch, PVComplete, PVCAD)
    • Skills/Competencies:oStrong growth mindset

    • Ability to work night shift, weekends, US/Philippine holidays.

    • Location: ROHQ
    • This is an FTE position.
    • Candidate must be willing to work in Binan Laguna-Candidate must be legally entitled to work and reside in the Philippines. 
    • Candidate must be willing to render overtime as business requires (weekends, US/PH holidays)
    • Candidate must be flexible to work on either morning shift or night shift schedule supporting North America region.
    • Tool of Trade: Laptop/Desktop, Extended Monitor, Headset (as needed)
