Internship Overview
Powell’s 10-week paid internship program offers college students hands-on experience, professional training, and the opportunity to make an impact through a meaningful project aligned with your field of study. As a Manufacturing Engineering Intern, you’ll focus on supporting process improvements while gaining valuable skills in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
Project Focus
- Intern Project: Refinement of Plant Layout
- Expected Deliverables: Completely updated layout of the entire Mosley fabrication/assembly shops.
- How does this project benefit Powell or your functional area? This will allow our team to more accurately plan future machine purchases as well as layout production areas for more efficiency.
- Desired Major: Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing & Mechanical Engineering Technology

Who We’re Looking For
- We seek motivated, curious, and driven students with the following qualifications:
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Rising Junior or Senior continuing studies in Fall 2027.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA and strong academic standing.
- Team player with strong communication, multitasking, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-starter with a dependable, can-do attitude.
- Bonus Skills: Experience with Six Sigma, CAD and process improvement fundamentals is a plus.
