Role Summary:
In this position you will be involved in the selection, system level validation and design of key sensors deployed in Rivian vehicles. This is a critical role as these sensors will serve as providers of input to the autonomous driving systems.
Responsibilities:
This will involve:
- Partnering with other product related organizations to distill the requirements
- Working with suppliers to understand the HW validation requirements
- Help in establishing and maintaining lab for Sensor validation and characterization
- Writing Automation SW in Python, C++ or Matlab to analyze and post process Sensor’s data
- Data analytics and Algorithm development and verification to optimize Sensor performance
- Testing of RF systems including antennas, radomes, other RF passives, and RF solid-state devices
- Working with Vehicle Integration team to integrate the sensors on vehicle platforms
- Working with your team to flush out detailed specifications of all components
- Cross-functional development with perception, product development and vehicle systems team
- Working with supply chain to get these manufactured or procured per specification as needed
- Monitoring the performance of the sensors in the field and refining the design
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will meet a large number of the following requirements:
Required:
- Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- In depth experience with various sensing modalities such as radar, ultrasonics and lidar
- In depth experience with the design and/or deployment of such technologies
- Strong understanding of radio frequency design or optical frequency
- Strong understanding of digital signal processing
