Summary: You will drive the future of occupant safety through innovation and technology.
This is what you’ll do:
- Lead a team to drive innovation and design an advanced safety system for the next generation of vehicles.
- Develop roadmap and define requirements of the safety system that will be manufactured through supplier collaboration. This will include laying out clear specifications, interviewing supplier candidates and defining the necessary system level tests needed to validate the design.
- Work cross-functionally with members of safety team, software and other electrical engineering teams to ensure all aspects of component integration for successful delivery
- Innovate and bring new ideas to enhance the future of occupant safety and optimization of the vehicle technology
- Additional activities may include supporting development of engineers in the area of safety systems, Investigation and debugging as part of issue resolution
This is what you’ll need:
- S. or higher in Electrical Engineering
- 10+ years of experience developing airbag and restraint control systems
- Experience leading a team of diverse engineers
- Knowledge of validation requirements related to safety systems.
- Knowledge of vehicle crash and safety standards including regulatory and certification requirements.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills with a high level of integrity
- Ability to self-direct and adapt quickly to program changes.
- Experience self-managing issues to closure involving all necessary teams.
- Experience with writing component specifications
- Ability to understand electrical topology and circuit diagrams.
- Be able to work independently, under your own initiative.
