The Opportunity
This is more than an internship, it’s a front-row seat to the future of climate tech. You’ll work directly with Cemvita’s CEO and executive team on strategic initiatives that shape the company’s growth, partnerships, and market positioning. You’ll gain hands-on experience influencing real-world decisions across biofuels, fertilizers, and carbon transformation markets.
This role is ideal for someone who wants to be at the intersection of strategy, finance, and sustainability, and make a real impact from day one.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct deep-dive market research to uncover trends, opportunities, and competitive threats across biotech, energy transition, and sustainable fuels.
- Build and maintain financial models to evaluate new business cases, project economics, and return-on-investment scenarios.
- Analyze policies, incentives, and legislation (federal, state, local) that impact Cemvita’s business, with a focus on green premiums, IRA/LCFS credits, and sustainability-linked incentives.
- Support strategic scenario planning and sensitivity analyses for executive-level decision making.
- Prepare clear, insight-driven presentations and dashboards for the CEO and executive team.
- Collaborate across teams, including strategy, finance, policy, and engineering to embed insights into real-time business initiatives.
- Monitor emerging regulations and competitive moves, providing regular intelligence briefings to the leadership team.
What You Bring
- MBA candidate (or equivalent graduate program) focused on finance, business strategy, economics, or sustainability.
- Experience or strong interest in market analysis, financial modeling, and strategic planning.
- Understanding of legislative processes and incentive structures related to climate tech or biotech.
- Proficient in Excel (advanced modeling), with bonus points for Power BI and AI-based analysis tools.
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and storytelling skills, you can turn data into decisions.
- A proactive, curious mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment.
Bonus Points For
- Familiarity with foresight methodologies, scenario planning, or future trends analysis
- Portuguese language skills and/or knowledge of Brazil’s bioeconomy, including sugarcane-based fuels and local regulatory dynamics
- Experience in biotech, cleantech, or energy markets
- Understanding of LCFS, 45Z, 45Q, or other sustainability-related tax credits
- A track record of collaborating with senior leaders or working in cross-functional teams
